Violet Red

When it comes to politics, we all know about red vs. blue.  Red is for the Republicans and blue is for the Democrats.  However, I’ll bet you most Americans do not identify as all-red or all-blue.  There are those that land somewhere “purple-ish” on the political spectrum.  I am one of those people.  I do not identify with all-blue or all-red.  I believe the political color that fits me best is violet-red.  That’s the color you get when you mix red and purple.  In other words, I call myself right-of-center, but not far-right.

What’s the difference between right-of-center and far-right? Unlike myself, folks in the all-red, far-right crowd believe all or most of the following:

  • The 2020 Presidential election was stolen; Joe Biden did not win legitimately.
  • Barack Obama was not born on American soil.
  • Antifa was involved in the Capitol raid on Jan. 6, 2021.
  • The Sandy Hook Elementary School shooting was an elaborate hoax.
  • Man-made climate change is pure junk science.
  • The Fox News Channel is truly fair and balanced.
  • Bill Gates is the Antichrist.
  • Anthony Fauci is a Nazi.
  • The COVID vaccines are more dangerous than the virus itself.

Not one of the above resonates with me; I think it’s all nonsense. No disrespect, but you’re just in the wrong if you think any of those statements are true.

Now it’s time to offend everybody to my left. Here goes.

  • I passionately oppose abortion on demand.
  • I support the SCOTUS ruling, Dobbs vs. Jackson Women’s Health Organization.
  • I want to defund Planned Parenthood.
  • With a passion, I believe crisis pregnancy clinics should NEVER be forced by law to refer their clients to abortion services.
  • I want the lies and half-truths of Critical Race Theory kept out of the public classroom. (Traces of systemic racism still linger, but they do not define our country. Stop teaching kids that black people are victims and white people are oppressors and racists. That is a prejudicial ideology in-and-of itself.)
  • With a passion, I stand for the rights of bakeries, floral shops, and banquet halls NOT to cater to LGBT+ weddings on the grounds of religious conscience.
  • I believe if you have any children with gender dysphoria, one of the worst things you can do is give them puberty-blocking drugs, and encourage them to “transition.” (The Creator does not make mistakes when He selects X and Y chromosomes.)
  • I believe the United States of America, despite its numerous faults, is still the greatest nation in the world. (I dare you to “take a knee” in China, Russia, Iran, Saudi Arabia, Syria, Venezuela, or North Korea during their National Anthems. Wait and see what happens to you.)
  • I passionately oppose vaccination mandates. (I find it mind-boggling that the “my body my choice” crowd doesn’t feel the same way.)
